Indonesian Teaching Assistant (ITA)

The Indonesian Teaching Assistant (ITA) Program places university students from Indonesian universities in Australian schools to assist Indonesian language teaching and learning activities in the classroom.

The program focuses on strengthening students’ language proficiency while promoting a deeper understanding of Indonesian culture.

Roles of ITAs

  • Assist teachers in delivering Indonesian language lessons;
  • Provide authentic language practice, including conversation and pronunciation;
  • Support the development of engaging and interactive learning materials;
  • Contribute to cultural activities such as Indonesia Day celebrations, batik workshops, angklung performances, and other cultural programs;
  • Encourage and motivate students to continue their Indonesian language studies.

Program Objectives
