Ambassador Goes to Campus

Ambassador Goes to Campus is a public diplomacy initiative that brings the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Canberra into Australian universities to engage directly with students, academics, and university leaders. The program aims to strengthen Indonesia–Australia relations through the exchange of ideas, academic networking, and the exploration of opportunities for collaboration in education, research, and innovation.

The program typically includes:

  1. A public lecture or keynote address delivered by the Ambassador;
  2. Interactive dialogue sessions with students and academic staff;
  3. Discussions on opportunities for academic, research, and institutional collaboration;
  4. Activities that promote people-to-people connections and deepen intercultural understanding.

Through this initiative, universities gain valuable insights into Indonesia’s policy developments, economic transformation, educational landscape, and diplomatic priorities. At the same time, the program creates strategic opportunities for meaningful partnerships and collaborative initiatives between higher education institutions in Indonesia and Australia.

Ambassador Goes to Campus also reflects the shared commitment of both countries to strengthening education as a key pillar of the Indonesia-Australia relationship. It supports collaboration in addressing global challenges, including digital transformation, sustainability, innovation, and the development of future-ready human capital.
